BIS-FIT
The BIS online course on finance, innovation and technology (BIS-FIT) is aimed at supervisory and regulatory staff and other central bank staff (such as those involved with payments, research and innovation) who are new to the topic.
BIS-FIT has two parts:
- BIS-FIT 1.0 consists of three modules: an overview of fintech activities and policy responses, enabling technologies and policies, and cyber resilience
- BIS-FIT 2.0 covers big tech policy challenges, regulatory issues of digital currencies and central bank digital currencies.
The courses are complementary and alternate every year. They are co-organised with other units of the BIS, such as the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures, the Cyber Resilience Coordination Centre, the BIS Innovation Hub and the Monetary and Economic Department.
BROC
The Banking Resolution Online Course (BROC) is aimed at staff working in resolution authorities or deposit insurers or on resolution policy. It covers the core elements of bank resolution frameworks, resolution strategies and resolvability, and the arrangements and practices that need to be in place to ensure that resolution is effective. It is co-organised with the International Monetary Fund.
CEROC
The Climate and Environmental Risks Online Course (CEROC) is aimed at entry-level banking and insurance supervisors who are new to climate-related and environmental issues. It provides an introduction to climate-related and environmental risks, and covers fundamental supervisory topics such as corporate governance, risk assessment, disclosure and supervisory tools from a climate and environmental perspective. It is co-organised with the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System.
FIRST
The Insurance Regulatory and Supervisory Training Online Course (FIRST-ONE) is designed to provide a foundational understanding of insurance supervision to entry-level or experienced professionals who are new to insurance supervision. It is co-organised with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
SIOC
The Specialised Insurance Online Course (SIOC) covers international insurance regulatory standards comprising the Common Framework for the Supervision of Internationally Active Insurance Groups, the global Insurance Capital Standard and the Holistic Framework for the assessment and mitigation of systemic risk in the global insurance sector. It is co-organised with the IAIS.
SROC
The Supervisory and Regulatory Online Course (SROC) covers the fundamental aspects of banking regulation and supervision, including the international standards and guidelines issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. SROC also provides an introduction to climate-related financial risks and fintech regulation. It is co-organised with the International Monetary Fund.
